“THE NORTHSIDE LANDLORD” 

In June, Lamont Franks was featured as a local real estate success story on KMOV TV.  The self-titled ‘Northside Landlord’ began buying real estate in his 20s.  Starting with one property valued at only $1,000.00, Lamont stepped up purchasing nearly 20 homes in North City.  He’s invested in abandoned buildings taking over and transforming city blocks to bring change to areas of North City.  He sees potential in North City and believes that with determination and hard work, he can turn his investment into something valuable. 

Lamont now has a real estate portfolio that has expanded to 22 rental properties in both the city and county.  He says he sees his investment as an opportunity to create generational wealth for his children.  And his real estate and construction businesses have provided jobs for those living in northside neighborhoods.  

Although Lamont, like all real estate investors, endeavors to win, he is motivated by his losses to continue making a difference in the northside community.  He is quoted as saying: “You can’t win everything, but you can get another 30 days, and it can change your life.”  “Some people get discouraged when I talk to them about the north side, but it’s an opportunity,” he says.
